Explaining Cyberpunk 2.0 Crafting

You're not the only one in need of an explanation of Cyberpunk 2.0 crafting. A lot has changed since CDPR took over, and some of those changes may come as an unpleasant surprise, particularly in the case of crafting materials. It is preferable if you are aware of these things in advance. We'll go over how to create in the latest update, where to get crafting components, and whether upgrading made weapons is possible in this tutorial. Let's get started since there is a lot to cover.

Explaining Cyberpunk 2.0 Crafting

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update: How to Craft

In Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, you must first access your inventory in order to begin crafting. Choose the Crafting tab located beneath from there. The accompanying graphic shows you precisely where to go. But now things are a little different. The patch notes state that "you must first have 2 mods of lower quality" in order to manufacture a weapon mod. Furthermore, "now require only one type of component instead of multiple types" for making and upgrading. Additionally, the traditional Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary classifications of rarity have been replaced with tiers (which range from Tier 1 to 5++). I'm not exactly sure why that modification was required, but whatever. Needless to say, you need components, which brings us to our next point:

Where to Find Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Crafting Components

When it comes to crafting in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, the first thing you should know is that, for reasons I cannot understand, dealers are no longer able to provide you with them. Quickhacks are no longer sold by them either. Therefore, your major option for finding crafting components will be to disassemble whatever you don't need—well, maybe weapons, because they are really expensive. And, of course, stealing from access points. Although you may sometimes discover parts from looting odd containers or dead opponents, dismantling will most likely be your main source. It's not perfect, but then again, a lot of people have been making crafts out of trash from the beginning.

Is It Possible to Purchase Crafting Supplies in Cyberpunk 2.0?

As we said in the last section, no longer is it possible to directly purchase crafting components in Cyberpunk 2.0. The best you can do is buy things from suppliers and then disassemble them to make crafting supplies. Take those inexpensive firearms, for instance, that are really one-time use only. Those are disassembleable into five parts. It's not much, but it's cost-effective and doesn't need you to risk everything. So, it could be the best option if you're short on supplies. Beyond that, the main source of components will come from defeating gangs and destroying their gear, including clothes.

Can Crafted Weapons Be Upgraded?

The inability to upgrade handmade weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is another significant modification to crafting. "Apart from cyberware, only iconic weapons can be upgraded," the patch notes said. With every improvement, they move up to a higher Tier. See our Cyberpunk 2077 Iconic Weapon Locations guide to learn more about iconic weapons. Once again, I fail to see why CDPR chose to remove the opportunity to upgrade all other weapons; it was a very enjoyable task. The iconic weapons' main selling point is that, even by themselves, they were really awesome. Well, anything.

How Cyberware Can Be Upgraded

Go to a Ripperdoc to update your Cyberware. You can buy and install Cyberware here, as you are aware, but you can now also update your Cyberware from that location. This also applies to Cyberdecks; thus, with the CP2077 2.0 upgrade, we suggest that you read our guide to find out which Cyberdecks are the finest.
