Two Playable Characters Are Shown in the AC Shadows Reveal Trailer
The new teaser for Assassin's Creed Shadows finally reveals the game's release date. More significantly, however, is that we finally got to meet our two new heroes. The first is a samurai named Yasuke, while the other is a shinobi from the Iga Province named Naoe. That Yasuke, indeed. And last, something that could be fascinating.
Launch Date and Principal Characters of Assassin's Creed Shadows Unveiled
The game is set in the latter half of the Sengoku era. Even though I have very little understanding of Japanese history, I am aware that this was one of the most chaotic periods. Up until the Tokugawa shogunate unified the whole nation and put an end to all resistance, there was almost continual political unrest. And I figure that's around when the game will happen, give or take a few years.
Regardless of the precise era in which the game is set, it will provide an ideal environment for Yasuke and Naoe to get deeply involved in political intrigue and introduce the ideology throughout Japan. Do they intend to support the Tokugawa shogunate? And how would they respond to the atrocities the shogun committed in order to subjugate the whole nation? I have a genuine curiosity in how the narrative will conclude. Are you willing to invest a minimum of seventy dollars and endure many hours of tedious work? That's just me, however; I doubt it.
On November 15, 2024, Assassin's Creed Shadows will launch on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Standard, Gold, and Ultimate are the three editions that will be available. They each cost seventy, one hundred, and thirty dollars. The latter comes with a few more skill points, a season pass, and a few cosmetic things. Additionally, the season pass will come with an additional mission that is accessible at launch, as has regrettably been the norm.
