In Street Fighter 6, Akuma's Release Date Is Finally Here

Just behind well-known characters like Ryu and Chun-Li in the Street Fighter series comes Akuma, one of the most iconic figures. He's scarier and more intimidating than most villains in many respects. With the possible exception of Gill, who is the whole antithesis of my existence, but that is unimportant. The fan community has been eagerly awaiting the announcement of Akuma's release date since Capcom has been hinting at it for a short time. My friends, the moment is nearly here.

Street Fighter 6's Akuma Will Eventually Be Released

Street Fighter 6 Will Feature Akuma in Late May 2024

More precisely, the video (which you can see below) states that the demonic combatant will come on May 22, 2024. Of course, if you want to play as Akuma, you'll need to pay. You must either possess the Year 1 Ultimate Pass or the Year 1 Character Pass, or the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition of the game. How far fighting games have descended into avarice, my goodness. Nevertheless, Akuma also has his terrible stage, known as Enma's Hollow. He trains tirelessly to become a master of the Satsui no Hado in that den.

Additionally, all of the Year 1 characters—Akuma, Ed, Rashid, and AKI—will be sporting new attire. Moreover, given that Street Fighter 6 was released in June of last year, they are most likely the only new characters this season will provide. Four is a pleasant, even number. Since I haven't played with SF6 for very long, I can't really comment on Akuma's play in any depth. I get the impression that he is being his typical vicious self—hitting like a truck but moving quite quickly. I suggest watching the gameplay trailer to make your own judgment. And to see Akuma embody his own design, which is very amazing.
