There is a new release date for The Rogue Prince of Persia.
The Rogue Prince of Persia was originally scheduled for release on May 14. After then, Hades 2 occurred, which immediately removed the bulk of the oxygen from the space. In order to give fans more time to enjoy Hades 2, the creators sensibly opted to postpone the release of their own roguelite. We now know that May 27, 2024, will be the new launch date.
Launch Date for The Rogue Prince of Persia Unveiled
The updated trailer, which you can see below, and Twitter have both verified the revised release date. Evil Empire, the game's makers, tweeted: "May 27th is the new release date for The Rogue Prince of Persia! The short version is to allow everyone time to play Hades 2, including us. If Silksong shadow-drops in the next two weeks, however, we're burning the place down. And yes, I would also rip my hair out if Team Cherry were to abruptly abandon Silksong in the next days. I pray that doesn't happen for Evil Empire's mental health.
The tweet continues by outlining the cost of the game. Many, it seems, had assumed it would set them back sixty, maybe seventy bucks. However, it is untrue; The Rogue Prince of Persia will be priced appropriately since it is a smaller-scale product. Although the makers offer a "cheeky little launch discount," it will cost $20. So, yes, very reasonably priced. It is important to remember that the game will be in early access for a while, so it may not be perfect right away. For my part, I can't wait to play Rogue Prince just for the soundtrack and graphics. I hope the great presentation is complemented with the gameplay!
