Patch 1.08 (2023) Elden Ring Soft Caps All Stats & Attributes
Understanding Elden Ring's soft caps for every stat is crucial if you want to maximise your build's potential. With eight primary metrics (or traits) that govern all other stats, Elden Ring is a somewhat complex role-playing game. There are many "soft caps" in these numbers. Unlike hard caps, which represent the highest value you can get for a certain stat, soft caps are the level at which raising that stat becomes much less valuable. All of the soft caps for Elden Ring's stats and traits are included in this comprehensive guide, which has been updated to reflect changes in balance brought forth by the most recent Elden Ring patch.
Why Do All Stats in Elden Ring Patch 1.08 (January 2023) Have Soft Caps?
Gaining knowledge about Elden Ring skill soft caps will help you allocate your runes more wisely and strategically. Runes have a finite number of uses, thus optimising them will improve the efficiency of your building. Levelling up one stat will eventually provide lower returns than using the same rune to level up another stat. In contrast to hard caps, many games do not make apparent what a soft cap is. Elden Ring stats soft caps apply in the same way.
Fortunately, the community steps in at that point! On Reddit, diligent community members have published the stat soft cap values they've calculated! The maths was initially performed by Reddit member u/AshuraRC, and it was then revised by u/getcheddarttv. We are now aware of every skill soft cap in Edlen Ring because of them. Having saying that, each stat in Elden Ring has a soft cap shown below.

Additionally, Faith has two invocation caps: one at level 80 and the other at level 60. The first incantation cap in Arcane is at level 30, while the second is at level 45.
