In the Zelda TOTK or Tears of the Kingdom Lost in the Dunes adventure, Ponthos is really located underground. He's not in the Underground Depths, however. No, Ponthos is literally under the dunes. How would you approach him? You must go to the following desert coordinates: -3355, -2676, 0029. When you arrive, a large sand vortex will be visible. Enter without fear; it is secure. Following a short cutscene, you'll arrive at the Oasis Source. Approaching the incline, Ponthos suddenly appears. His precise location is [-3337, -2677, 0005]. After speaking with him, go upstream until you come to the breakable rock wall. Shatter it apart, then speak with Ponthos once again.

That's the location of Ponthos in the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom or TOTK Lost in the Dunes quest, when it comes to that. Return to the Kara Kara Bazaar and speak with the other caravan members if you've succeeded in saving him. The coordinates for them are -3270, -2580, 0023.
