Tracing Elden Ring Ray on PC, PS5, and Xbox
There's a pretty pleasant surprise included with the latest Elden Ring patch. Finally, ER now has Ray Tracing! The PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X now have this option. Of course, you have to switch it on before you can use it. PC, PS5, and Xbox: Elden Ring Ray Tracing Feature
You must first understand how this works. The addition of ray tracing has only been made to ambient occlusion and shadows, not to reflections. Additionally, even though Ray Tracing is supported on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, turning it on is likely to cause some performance problems, such as a drop in frame rate. In particular, Raytracing is limited to 30 frames per second on the PS5. Regarding PC Ray Tracing, the following are the required and minimal system requirements to enable Elden Ring with it enabled:
- OS – Minimum: Windows 10 / Recommended: Windows 11.
- Processor – Minimum: Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT / Recommended: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT.
- Memory – Minimum: 16 GB / Recommended: 16 GB.
- Graphics Card – Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, 12 GB / Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, 16 GB.
- Recommended Graphics Settings – If you meet the minimum system requirements: 1080p – Low quality – Low Ray Tracing / If you meet the recommended system requirements: 1080p – High quality – High Ray Tracing.
The method for activating Ray Tracing varies according on the device you are using to play Elden Ring. Go to the Settings Menu for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. After that, choose Ray Tracing under Game Options and click Turn it on. Settings Menu > Graphics > Ray Tracing Quality is the PC's setting. Then adjust the Ray Tracing to your system's specifications.
