Error Fix: The Epic Games Launcher is running but not launching Wuthering Waves
You may begin preloading Wuthering Waves now, May 23, in advance of its release date. I proceeded to start it and acquire the files ahead of the launch rush after receiving an email from the Epic Games Store letting me know that it was available on their site. Nothing occurred when I selected Wuthering Waves to execute it. Wuthering Waves isn't releasing, but according to the Epic Games Store, WUWA is operational. Fortunately, there is a workaround for this problem, and I'm hoping that an official patch will be released soon as well.
Using the Epic Games Store to launch the Wuthering Waves Launcher is fixed
The exclusive Wuthering Waves launcher for the Epic Store is meant to open when you run the game using the Epic Games Store launcher, but nothing occurs. What must be done is:
- Open your Windows Task manager by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC at the same time.
- Find KRLauncherEpic in the list of tasks.
- Right click on the KRLauncherEpic in your task manager and choose “Open file location”
- This will open the folder containing the files for the Epic Store version of the game. You now need to locate the file “launcher.exe”, or it might be just called launcher on your system with the WuWa icon. Run this file.
- Wuthering Waves launcher should now open.
As soon as the game downloads from the WuWa launcher, you may play it on May 23rd. You will only get a notification indicating the precise launch time if you launch the game using the launcher. I'm hopeful that Epic Games will soon address the issue preventing the Wuthering Waves launcher from starting so you won't need to do all of these manual steps.
